Two Posts Tonight

Rusty, Tchibo and Nathan

Everyone gets hugs many times a day. Nathan was in the tv room and I clicked this photo.

Here is the gallery.

We went to Sam's funeral today. The speeches - mentioning Rusty time and time again.... He was a special guy and Ronnie is too. Her kids - as special as they are or were.

Dogs had a blast. We have a puppy visit tonight. Not up for it but when I see the pups playing, I will be.

That's what dogs bring you - smiles - if you allow.

We have a celebration of 1 year olds. See below.

Happy ONE Year

Hi Darlah

Can’t believe Ollie and the boys are 1 one today! Please give Stormy a big kiss for me! You will never know the sheer love and joy Ollie has brought to our home. We love him with all of our hearts and he has literally completed us. His love knows no bounds and I have never seen a more loving human like dog in my life.  Crumps Naturals sent him a huge birthday box of treats including his fav sweet potato!

Thank you!!

Xo

Rochelle

Hi Darlah & Nathan,

Sending you a combination pic of Meelo with his Christmas sweater on his 1st Birthday.

He is the sweetest little dog and definitely has a larger than life personality.

He loves to play with any type of squeaky toy and in particular loves to chase things.

Most evenings he can be found snoozing on either myself or my husband while we watch TV.

Just want to say thanks to you both for breeding the best Havanese ever!!!

Take care and wish you all the best in the coming New Year 🎉

Heat Is On

Our heat is fixed. Sky laid on a heat register and blocked the heat from that room. I laughed. Was she trying to tell me something?

Check out the gallery.

The dogs look like the cat dragged them in and had a field day with them. I did comb all but they are playing like crazy. Play equals a mess again.

We visited Rusty and his family today. Rusty is now here. Traffic was horrid but so had we went. Sometimes you must make time for things that are important.

I am really tired today. It's emotional and physical but the pups werte really great. See their blogs.

I think when I sit in the recliner and get draped by dogs, I may start snoring - not intentionally but I am in that tired zone.

Blogs may be short tomorrow. We have a funeral to attend, groomings to do and a puppy visit with someone that can't come on Saturday. I hope I am awake by then and the pups are not sore.

Having heat is wonderful and the dogs think so too.

Enjoy your evening!

You Coming

It is pouring today so no great play sessions outside. We are playing inside but here is a very small gallery.

Tomorrow is a vet visit so small gallery tomorrow too. Sorry. I was going to wash a few of my own dogs and decided that would be a fruitless undertaken. They would just look unwashed in moments. So - later...

Dennis runs around with the dogs up and down the halls much like Nathan does with the pups. It expels energy. It gets them having fun. It's a grand amount of fun.

We work around weather. LOL

UPDATE: Finally heater guy is here. He says 20 minutes. Oh to have heat after so many days...

Furnace Update and Gallery Added

First thank you to everyone that lent us space heaters. Thank you to Magics mom who sent us Steve - who she sent to us before with the air conditioner. I called everyone but him as I couldn't remember his name. Nathan is terrible with cards so I am scanning them in now and putting them in an emerg folder.

She even called to make sure they were coming. Thank you!

One of Steve's employees showed up and couldn't get it working. He is going to buy a blower in the morning as they aren't open till tomorrow. He will be back tomorrow and I so hope that is what it is and we are fixed tomorrow.

We are downright toasty with the heaters. I am no longer shivering. Yes - we were. It's not hot but comfortable and I so appreciate that.

Again - thank you everyone. I am so glad the puppies were not just born. It could have been worse. Here's to 1 more day without heat.

Here is the gallery.

No matter what, we still manage to have fun. Dogs slept under the covers with me. I created a tent and we were all so toasty. This has been an exhausting week but a rewarding one. All I kept thinking about was how do the homeless manage. This is nothing towards what they do each and every day.

Let's hope tomorrow it is fixed. Dog bodies all over you under blankets make for a magical time. Without the heat going, I wouldn't have had such moments. But let's not go again, please. Here's to it getting fixed.

Nathan gets home tonight. I am jealous. He had sun, good friends to enjoy, boats and great food every day. Talking about food, thank you for the cornbread!!!!!!!

Making Progress

UPDATE on Furnace not working: Blocked off rooms. Found a space heater in garage. Put heating lamps and closed doors. We are good. Dogs don't mind - only my feet. Drying dogs helps.

Our furnace is working but the blower is not. It means no heat is getting distributed but thanks to Aliya, we have an electric heater to use. Pups are warm. Thanks to our son Jon, we now have his heater and he has a ton of blankets. I used dog dryers, baked and let heat out of the oven and our house is now 60f - 15c from 39f - 3c. That is how cold it got in the house without electrical heat. I know it will cost too much but dogs are warm. We are warm. We usually keep it at 70f but 60f will do.

I called and called service people and wasted a ton of time telling me everyone was booked. Nathan said he will start calling tomorrow night as he has a number that may come soon. We shall see.

We put on the heat lamps. The pups were pleased and the adult dogs didn't seem to mind a bit. I put a ton of blankets - dogs blankets etc in the tv room and bed so they could snuggle.

They did play in and out. See the gallery.

I am glad to be relatively warm.

The dogs had a blast today. Me, not so much. But solutions and lots of dog love got me by and Aliyah - thank you!!

The dogs and I will have fun sleeping under the blankets. Is it bedtime yet?

Short Blog

Sorry short blog today. We had snowball so brusha brush and soaked floors. Will it get colder so the snowballs don't stick, please? Some were worse than others as they ran through the snow in glee playing.

Here is the gallery.

One dog, 2 dogs - no problem but oh boy my arm is killing me. I could have washed them all too but I would still be doing that. This is a twice brush day. Before - silly me and after snow. By bed time I fall dead asleep. But despite that, the dogs make me laugh. If you can't get over the work or the lack of you time or down time then you are missing the moments. You will see in the gallery.

I could say don't go out anymore. Use the pads but despite the work, out they go and they are having an extreme amount of fun that makes you laugh.

Bedtime is fun too with me as the target - kissy, snuggle - oh a bathroom break - can I come too?

It's an experience!

The Play In and Out

Charlie and Spirit was going strong this morning. Without Nathan, we have a later breakfast. It suits Dennis and I. No rushing. We take them out, let them play and prepare breakfast. They have been eating at 8am vs 715am. I think they like it.

Spirit is done her heat so she had been crazy silly and happy as she can play with Charlie and the rest.

Here is the gallery.

I got everyone combed out early today and thought hmm extra time and we ran out of dog food for dinner so off I went to Global to get some. Not on my plan to do today. That's done.

I am going to splurge and get blogs done early so I can do a full groom on a dog departing and eat Fajitas from Lonestar. If Nathan has burns on his arm, shorts and boats and eating out everyday, I can do one take out. So, treat tonight. I also bought chicken necks dehydrated as a treat for the dogs. There is a theme here, folks. Dogs and humans will be treating themselves and we deserve it, LOL

We had a mad dash at chasing the rabbit today. I think the dogs think its a game. The rabbit is WAY too fast for them. I am glad.

2 Updates Today Slushy Times

It's that time of the year so if you send me Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa or whatever you celebrate, if you send photos, I will post. It's a way to celebrate with all of you!

This is Coach and Sassy from our late Wasabi's litter. I believe they are over 13 years old now. They are delightful and we so enjoy their visits. They are full siblings.

Here is today's gallery.

It was a mighty slushy day today. Dogs don't appreciate wet cold on their legs but they went out anyways - even Murphy. Saffron had 2nd and 3rd thoughts about it.

Everyone got brushed out early and then it all went downhill in looking groomed from there. LOL

Good Day

Rusty is laughing in delight. He's going home and Sam the human dad had his breathing tube out so exciting to see progress. He was so excited at the door he couldn't do any of the tricks they taught him. He's forgiven. Excitement or performance? Excitement in this case a great thing!

Here is the gallery.

It's just Dennis and I so I am a tad busy but the dogs all had an early wake up today. They have had a bunch of runs.

Someone just got finished and is ready to go home. We will miss her!

Snow Fun and More

Ronnie's husband made it through surgery. I tried to explain it to Rusty but he looked at me as it I was taking a foreign language. When Sam gets to come home, Rusty will be so excited. We are thankful that he made it through. This is a complicated surgery so we are celebrating!

Here is today's gallery.

We woke up to snow and the dogs LOVED it. Dennis and I not so much. You see it was that snowball on the coat type of snow. But we survived and its getting colder so that means no smore snowballs.

Nathan is gone till next week so send me mail if you have questions. He will not have access to email.

It's just Dennis and I and I have already made mistakes formatting a memory stick. It wasn't of the adults but instead the pups. It happens.

Dogs had a blast today. Something about snow.

Snow and Ice

This is Willow - a tad messy due to this weather but I am putting her up as she is also a Jeannie puppy. Raven is also a Jeannie pup. The brown sables in the Cinnamon crew should be a similar colour though Willow was lighter when she was their age.

Here is the gallery.

We had ice pellets then snow today. We still got out to try to expel energy. The dogs enjoy the runs so. It was not as slippery as I thought or experienced after the pellets descended on us. After the snow cover it actually was not so slippery.Maybe I have great traction on my boots?

Our son Jon was on his way an hour ago to see his girlfriend who lives just above the place we are having dinner at. He said the highways have not been iced nor plowed so he turned around to come home. I hope it is better later.

Harlow joined us while his dad moves back to the city. He said, I am moving to the lakeshore - think that is what he says. Harlow will love it as its a real dog world downtown. It is here too but just different.

Rusty's mom and sister is dealing with Rusty's dad - Ronnie's husband having to get a mechanical heart as he is not a candidate for a heart transplant due to health issues. I am posting so you can send virtual healing thoughts to pull him through. They are wonderful people and need to be around for years and years to come enjoying and creating memories. Rusty is here having fun. Thank you, Ronnie for the dog toy and chocolates. So thoughtful even at this timeframe. Deepest appreciation.

Hoping we can make dinner. It's a 2 drink gin and tonic night. LOL

Saturday Saturday

Despitehaving 2 puppy visits, we still managed to have fun with the dogs, before, between and after. It's why the afternoon blog took me longer.

Here is the gallery.

Brady departs tonight. Murphy departs tomorrow and Harlow arrives. Four more days till Roxie and Spirit is out of heat and gets a bath. We found out long ago that if you bathe them during the heat, the boys want them more. LOL It's a crazy subject but we so are glad when we are not in the midst of it.

Tomorrow night Sarpa. The anniversary is actually Monday but Nathan leaves Tuesday. I refuse to spend an anniversary helping him pack etc. Plus he goes a tad crazy packing.

I want to say thank you Lynda and Gallan for the Anniversary card and gift. Truly nice! Deepest appreciation and Dollar Stores rule. hahahaha Dennis gets his fill of candy too. Have to try that again as he almost ate it all - can you believe?

They say a storm is coming. I hope its a ton of white stuff and we can still make it out to eat. 2 gin and tonics are in order. I survived washing 3 moms, 1 dad and 14 pups. We had fun with it as it was I who thought of ribbons, hats and glasses. First time for that.

We so try to enjoy and make smiles! No gin tonight or I would be out like a light before chores before bed. hmmm...

Next week I start getting puppy bags ready.

Similar and Fun

Truffie needs a bath and a good comb out, Meadow had a bath but we have gals in heat and after I comb Truffie out he looks like this again. Meadow was here and a photo was taken to show their similarities. This is grandpa and grand daughter.

I had a marathon bathing job today but the dogs had fun. See the gallery.

No matter what goes on, we find ways to have fun and it gives us smiles when they are crazy, silly.

Brady and Murphy gal arrived. Meadow departed.

The gals are finally out of heat on the 4th - hooray!

Less Muddy

I just finished washing, trimming and blow drying Meadow. I had to do her tonight as tomorrow brings bathing and drying and photos of 14 pups. So, tomorrow I will freshen her up, blow dry and brush her out so she looks as good as new.

Here is today's gallery before the grooming. LOL

Meadow went running up to see the puppies. At first she played and then they all came at her like gremlins descending on her. So, I took her in with 1 puppy in one of the rooms and the puppy play bowed for all it was worth and she said no. Now, she likes the puppies but 14 at once.... that is an experience that some will experience this Saturday.

The dogs enjoyed a crazy game of running the halls upstairs. Dennis hates photos of himself so I can only explain it. Inula has destroyed 4 toys this week. They need to make sturdier toys.

It was a little windy today and the dogs sat out and let the wind blow through their hair.

Blogs may be shorter next week and then again not. Nathan is off with the boys to Florida starting Tuesday for a week so it's just Dennis and I. We shall see how I manage my time. Blogs come secondary to fun with the dogs. Sorry... but true!

Yeah Rainy

I know - you have heard enough about rain from me but this is sky - only the 3rd time of getting in this state so its a clean up with waterless bath and blow dry her out only to get that way yet again. The huys here go - Darlah... Sky and x and x as she is not the only one. I am so glad I love the dogs.

Here is today's gallery.

As you will see in one of the photos with Meadow, a dog ripped the chair cushion. I need industrial chairs. Ignore it when here. I so try to. LOL

I have a friend in Utah who is dealing with sideways snow. Not sure rain, mud or snow is best. Do you know some of our trees still have leaves on them? is that crazy or what?

I have a video of Thunder and Charlie playing that Nathan put on my ipad. May have to send it to Jodi. The dogs are truly making the best of it and don't mind staying inside vs rain and then again you have Sky.

Monday is our anniversary and I may celebrate Sunday instead. Nathan heads out on Tuesday to Florida and he gets a bit crazy about packing. We are heading to Sarpa as I just had dinner with a dear friend there and the experience was so nice from the company, the waiter, the wait staff that I need to share it with Nathan. Memories are important.

To Play

Here is today's gallery.

Dogs had fun today. Lola and Ollie came for the day. Ollie had a bath and he was strutting as if to say, I look so good. He is such a character!

Tenshi also had a bath but she just wanted the treats - plural. Onlu 1 - really? Okay melt my heart with those eyes and I will have to give you more.

Thunder arrived. Charlie and Meadow arrives tonight.

Tomorrow we head out to the One of a Kind Show. It was Nathan's idea. It will be good to have a short time together without chores. LOL

We are experiencing the TV room takeover. They want the entire couch and then some. LOL

Dancing, Playing and Fun

Here is the gallery.

The dogs had fun today. Logan, Panda, Winston and Pablo came for a visit. They played like crazy. Nathan was out so not many photos were taken.

We haven't had a sign of snow. We do have lots of leaves but have yet to figure out what to do about that especially with limited time. Maybe this Sunday, if no snow, we should just run the mulcher over it or wait til spring and do the same. LOL I envy those that have time for this stuff. Come January when there are no puppies, we get back to our list. Yikes - the thought of it. Can I wait till spring?

Misty seems to be the glue these days. She won't take no for an answer and gets everyone playing even if they don't feel like it. Then they go - oh this is fun.

Elvis, who has been here for a bit is mighty comfie. It is rather nice to have him hang out here!
