Mucky, Dirty and Icy

What a combo. Dogs don't want to run. Dennis and Jon has been walking the dogs but its a wash each dog that comes in - paws, undersides - oh my. He just finished with Coops and Doozie and thank god for blowers. They are not crazy about the sound but its the only way to quickly blow out the excess water and then I will brush out when dry. I find this saves me time but at least they are getting their exercise this way. In the back they are just walking and standing as its too icy. Usually they are running around like banshees. Dennis said when he is finished walking he will take them upstairs and get them chasing him from room to room. Glad he loves the dogs so!

Here are a few photos of them outside and in the kitchen.

Doozie was watching Jeannie throw the toy up. She had her eye on her intently and I couldn't figure out why. One of those times it went up in the air Doozie grabbed it midair and was off running with it. You should have seen Jeannie's face. She sure didn't expect that.

We do play retrieve on icy days like this too to expel energy. Sparky was in no hurry to bring the toy back. I just laughed. Slow, deliberate and okay you can throw it again!

Cali and Jeannie were into the off the ground antics in the kitchen. Jeannie is going to make such a great mom. You can see it the way she plays.

Ty was over for play and he did play but he did a lot of investigating. Must be lots of smells with the ice melting. I will tell you I never saw so many leaves, sticks and mud as I have this year.

Doozie and Coco came in and only their immediate paws were dirty. Dennis said they walked around every dirty spot. heh

Coco is enjoying the fresh air so even though they are not running they are enjoying. Add in the runs in the house and the walks they have expelled lots of energy. A tired dog is a happy dog I say.

Coops came in the door immaculate bearing gifts Lamaze ones for the pups and I will have you know they ADORE them especially the crinkle one. Thank you from the bottom of the pups hearts! I will try to get a video of it. Is it just my house or is this the Coops but he seems to make a mess out of his face playing. I call that a good thing - maybe not for photos but it tells me he is having fun.

The dogs are almost finished with the walks so we are going to do some snuggle and tv time. Tomorrow baths for 12 pups - oh my!

Got To Love the Warmth

It's a mudpile out there even though we have snow still. All the muck is seeping through as the melt continues. Cali, who I gave a bath to looked simply like a muckity muckster 10 minutes later. I have to accept she is a wild fun spirit and just embrace that I have to keep her away from everyone and definately from outside if I expect the just brushed look. Deep down I love her for it!

The Maxine was over for a bath. Oh my does that gal have hair. She was rather smitten with our visitor Sparky. But Roxie, Coco and Adele also really liked playing with her.

See those black feet on Cali and she's walking on snow. Only she could find the mud.

This was Logan before I groomed him. He's waiting for his momma to pick him up. He tried to coax me into giving him some extra pieces of dried chicke strips I dehydrate and well I caved in. After all he gave me kisses and I am human.

The Moms were staying away from pups while we had visitors as it wasn't feeding time yet. This was a hard proces for them. But pups are still trying to eat and moms are not convincing enough that this is not the time yet.

Just a normal day around here but to tell you the truth, I am exhausted.

Great Melt Going On

The last one is how they come in after playing in that wet. I groomed everyone but you can hardly tell.

The above was before they went out. You don't want to know what they looked like after.

Keeping Levon, Trigger and Frannie clean before they departed was challenging is all I am going to say. They are free spirits that was running through the puddles before I bathed them. Hmm think Shannon says Trigger hates the puddles. Oh my gad I think he didn't realize they existed. They were having way too much fun to pay attention.

It's nice to see some ground but oh I have a feeling I will need a heavy duty blower for the yard. Where do you rent one of those? :-)

Watch Your Dogs

Carol had an experience that can happen to any of us. I am posting with her permission so you are aware. I believe we learn from each other. Dogs do the darndest things and you never know what is possible till they surprise you.

Coco and Doozie arrive for a visit tomorrow.

I had to take Doozie to the emergency vet clinic.  Yesterday she had a cough like there was something in her throat but I could not see anything and then she threw up 3 times within a few minutes.  Then she was OK.  Today she coughed again and then threw up twice.  The vet took an X-Ray and little Miss Doozie had 4 bones in her tummy and bowels. We never give them anything with bones so the Vet suspected a bird sure enough when we got home I found a bird wing under the tree.  She is on some antacids and special food for a few days.  This escapade has made me think about mouth kisses.

Lucia and Montuno: NEW Video Added

Click on Photo for Larger ViewJust got this in Talemaker's Alpha Centauri Montuno out of Paula Martel's Phantom and our Spice got BOW at the Specialty as well as BPISS. Lucia is brand new to the show world. She is showing Muntuno herself. Her enthusiasm is also very infectious and truly nice at the shows. We need more like her in the ring. We are proud of you Lucia! Thanks also goes to Judge David Kelland. Thank you Paula for allowing us to enjoy Phantom.

Here's a short video Nathan took with his ipad.

More Points and Specialty Update

Click on Photo for Larger View

Adele got Best of Opposites, Muntuno winners dog. This was big as this is perceived as a pro handler judge. But she is a nice dog and its nice that the judges aren't ignoring that fact. Muntuno is equally stunning just a different type.

So, I am glad that Nathan isn't doing a show and getting too frustrated with the politics. Phantom did not show this morning. Paula decided sleep was needed. She will show him this afternoon.

We have a quiet day today. We have no visitors in or out. I am getting nagged as there is no food in the house. Oh, no food that you want, Jon and Dennis? I guess it will be takeout tonight. Nathan has the van so I am not taking a taxi to the store and one home as they can't be creative. How's that?

Now to find a Petsmart in Sudbury as Nathan has to get some Starter Mousse to bring home. The pups are eating HUGE amounts now. Output is similar. (sigh) Didn't I start your day thinking about such a lovely shot?

Adele did nothing in the Specialty. Tangles who we co-own (Leigh showed her as she now lives with her) beat her. Phantom won the specialty. Muntuno won best puppy in the specialty. So the judge picked all Phantom pups with the exception of Adele. He gave her an excellent critique though. Adele showed well was just way too tired but won in the morning. Lots of showing for a puppy. Lucia is so thrilled it was a high just talking to her. I was so excited to hear her enthusiasm. I heard she got a show photo with all her ribbons and the things she won with Muntuno, Lucia and her husband. Maybe you will see it in the next magazine.

Show Times: Afternoon Win Too

This morning Adele won Winners Bitch, Muntuno Winners Dog and Phantom won breed and group 2. We had a good morning - well Nathan did and someone tried to take photos with his ipad. We shall see how that goes.

I had stomach problems last night so not much sleep. I think that is gone now. Jon is still not well. Got to order delivery food tonight I think. Got everyone but Shoshi brushed and I am about to get her done. Taking the dogs out shortly and it is really raining so they won't look like they were groomed. My arm/hand is better but aches and is sore but it is now usable. I have my dogs to do again.

Val who is at the show is really sick. I feel bad. I also hope Nathan doesn't bring home whatever she has. She thinks she may have eaten something wrong. Nothing worst than being at a show sick and still having to show. She is showing someone's cesky.

Two shows happened today and Adele won Winners bitch for more points. Phantom did not win. So Adele got points for the morning and the afternoon. Muntuno got Best Puppy.

Drab Day

They say the rain is coming and you know what that means? Mud, mud, mud and baths. Mommy had a full day as she has been busy getting Daddy ready for the show. He thinks it's all on him and this time much of it was as Mommy had a bath to do and Daddy decided not to start yesterday. hahahaha

So, Mommy didn't take photos. Daddy forgot his camera. She's almost done grooming everyone but figures if it starts raining tonight we won't look like it. Daddy got her a contraption to put on her hand that makes it comical to watch her groom. These days she wears her grooming jacket more than not as she grooms us here and there till done.

My human brother Jonathan had his clavicle surgery and he's not so good so Mommy needs to keep checking on him. He is in a lot of pain despite pain pills. So Mommy is a bust with the blogs but she will add some news on each. She should have done blast of the past today.

Sorry we can't do better today. Mommy hasn't even eaten but guess what us dawgs did - yum! I am going to remind that human that tomorrow she needs to dehydrate more chicken.

Frannie comes to visit tonight - fun!

Snow Again?

Working on photos but yeah we had more snow coming down. Have to laugh at what a snow year this has been.

My hand/arm is still sore so I am not brushing and Nathan is brushing visitors. I will play catchup on mine. It's just sore but I have to get Adele ready Thursday so I need to save the arm/hand/wrist for that as Nathan doesn't know how to get a dog show ready. Then I will be back brushing out everyone and hopefully the arm is better. I am the nag today. He's so used to me just doing and today I am saying Nathan time to do Sparky - time to do Levon, Trigger and Logan. Levon and Trigger have departed but I had to say clean arond their eyes, check their bums etc. Welcome to my life, Nathan. :-) It's okay. It's not like I fell on purpose. At least its not broken - just hurts.

He's being a good guy though just isn't happy about the got to do this - now - got to get this done - now. I also took some pain pills and took a nap. Nathan reminds me he didn't get his. Are we reversing roles? hahahaha

She LIES: Groom Come On

I groomed all the dogs - Nathan helped me. Then I took photos and groomed Cooper AGAIN. See who really played their hearts out this morning. Their hair is no longer perfectly brushed. Cooper wins the prize though. :-)

Yes, Cooper was groomed so he could go home BEFORE these photos.

Well, some dawgs just know how to have fun is all I can say!

Murphy and Moseby depart tonight. Tonight that leaves us with Sparky. Quiet times....

Snip Snip and More

Well Zoe and Molly went in to be spayed yesterday.  They did very well, Molly weighed in at 9lbs and Zoe was 8lbs 7oz.  Zoe did have to have that baby tooth pulled, and I was told the root was very long so they didn't think it would have ever come out on its own since the adult tooth had already fully grown in, it doesn't seem to be bothering her in the least.

Photos of the others later tonight.

Rain, Rain, Rain

Sorry but no gallery or photos. Dawgs are wet mops and we had much grooming and a puppy visit. But was Logan excited to see Lynda - absolutely! He was whining like crazy when we had to put him away so the pups could come out. He was mighty confused but that's okay, he's home and coming back in the morning for a visit.

Panda was very excited too and so was Roxie. After Panda said goodbye to Lynda she settled in with her pups.

Mabel is also visiting and she is so delicious. I promise photos tomorrow.

Let me catch my breath please! It's been a busy day and we have the Coops coming tomorrow and that is way exciting!

Crazy Busy

Cody went home tonight after his bath. He was doing all sorts of tricks while I was trying to click. Levon and Trigger also departed. Molly also dropped in for a play and a bath.

Me, I did a ton of laundry, baths and cleaning up xpens. Although the pups are doing well they still have accidents so we (okay me) is cleaning, cleaning and cleaning.

Molly had her nails checked then clipped.

Of course we have the tail end of visitors as March Break comes to a close for most and a few not till the end of the week. Lucky them. Here are a few photos snapped today.

This is Logan's fave chair. It's Nathan's chair in the kitchen. This is the only chair he wants.  Logan gets to see his human Mommy tomorrow night after his bath. He is going to be excited, I am sure.

Sparky is here and playing up a storm so much so I can't keep him groomed.

Tomorrow freezing rain so all that lovely snow if it actually happens will be ice yet again? We shall see. All I know is that means lots of grooming for me. Mabel is dropping in and Cha Cha is dropping in for the day. I have a feeling when all that melt come I will be taking a fire hose to the yard - oh I wish I had one.  Why is it when you are so diligent you still have so much cleanup come meltdown?

Oh and the news on the son. Wednesday they put a rod in him - surgery. Going to be a long 2 months. At least it will be healed in time for swimming.
