Stormy Escape

She climbed between the gates and up and over. You will see it in the puppy gallery or maybe this one.

The dawgs are funny. Murphy had enough of the heat and decided staying on the table on the top deck under the gazebo was the best shaded spot.

Meadow and Ellie was here to play and get spruced up. They had fun rolling around the floor with Nathan.

So far nap wins over prime time for pool. I guess i am the 'real' pool person here. LOL

I combed everyone out. By mid day, Misty had climbed in the pool and then ran through the mud. No one looked comb by afternoon except those that had baths. It is summer - ala natural 0 no knots but messy a can be. I so love the summer. Just wish it was a 'normal' one.

I have to finish blogs up as Dennis wants me to see some Elton John thing in his VR. He promises I won't get motion sick.

More Swimming Today

It is hot. We are busy with pups, grooming, pool and blogs. I need a nap. LOL

Here is the gallery.

In the midst of things, we had a visitor that walked right down the fence without a care in the world. I am not happy.

Today Misty jumped in. Sage did as well but we didn't catch it. Still she is wet in the photos. Without air in the house, we are sitting at 29c in the house. It is way too hot. What a thing to complain about.

Dogs had fun. Murphy, Harlow and Brewer decided the pool was not for them but I took my ice maker out and made a sea of ice cubes. Now that they enjoyed. LOL Got to keep things interesting.

Now to take the pups out for round 2 after I finish the blogs.

On a sad note, we just got word that Elise's dad died today - Trouble's mom - he was Dolly's human dad too. We are forever sad. He was truly a lovely man.

First Swim

Ella went swimming as well. We did too but not everyone swam. It was a short one but enjoyable. We are hoping tomorrow is longer and they say it is supposed to be hotter.

Here is the gallery.

We have Harlow and Barney here. It is good to have visitors. Some are planning for cottages next month. No flying far.

Till tomorrow!

A Day Off

See what a day off is like - well a semi day off. Still have pups, blogs, cleaning, laundry but a no groom day says I can blog at this time and be done. Amazing. Now only if the pool was warm enough. Last time I checked it was in the low 80s so maybe tomorrow I can swim. We shall see. I have groomings tomorrow but a quick 30 minute swim may help this back and rejuvenate this soul.

Harlow has been chasing the squirrels with the rest of the dogs. It has become a real game. It surely expels their energy.

Misty is excited that she is no longer in heat. She is playing with all today and quite happy. Raven finishes soon. No one else has come in yet. Maybe we will have sometime to swim this summer. I certainly hope so.

We went out yesterday - Nathan and I to do curbside for starter mousse for the pups to eat. We go through a lot so eventually we will be softening up fromms and they will make that transition but moms like it too. We can get 48 cans and it may last a week or a week and a half. Feeding pups and moms is costly when you have 15 pups. It is also hard to get so he had to go to 1 store then another. We are making it work.

I find it interesting as I see about 50% with masks and 50% without. I thought I would see a higher number yesterday but it was not the case. Yesterday was the 1st day for stores with curb exposure to open up. the mall was closed tight. No school for the rest of the year. We got Swiss Chalet and their takeout window was open. Delivery guy was masked up with a cool mask, I may say. My fave Shwarma place still closed. I so hope they open up eventually. Not another near us that is decent that I am aware of. It may force me to try others further away but I so like my local - people and food.

I have to start transplanting my plants but not today. I need a down day.

Here is the gallery.

We are mulling taking the pups out again. The weather - well its great. I may sit outside now that the blogs are done and watch on my ipad when the pups wake up. Got to take advantage of the moments that you can.

Falling Down On Job

George was over today for a cleanup with his housemate Herschel. It was really good to see them.

Herschel and Harlow was smelling all the smells that spring brings. LOL

Here is the gallery.

I must admit I had big plans today but everything fell through. I had plans to take the pups out. I had plans to feed them their first food. I had plans and plans and nada. Tomorrow is a new day. I did clean and steam the deck and block it off. That was what George was looking at above.

Dennis has been staying in bed too late till 3pm and then Nathan crawls in for his nap so it gives me no window. Hoping that changes tomorrow.

No one took photos but a handful.

They say swimming weather this weekend and I had planned to take off the day but - well I so need it. Pool is heating. Dawgs - I and even that guy Nathan needs the pool. We shall see if it works out. LOL

I did manage to groom myself to exhaustion and now blogging after 7pm.

Where did the day go?

Oh and the house is on revolt. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE likes Fromms lamb and lentil.

Happy 3rd

Wishing Rheo and his brothers a happy 3 rd birthday!

We have had an eventful year. Rheo acquired his Novice Trick Training title and 2 legs towards his Novice Nosework title.  He is missing his Golden ‘sister’ Kinsey who passed away late March. I love his cuddles and he is a great lap warmer. Thanks to Nathan and Darlah for this wonderful little guy.๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‚

From us:

Happy 3rd to Rheo, Buddy, Tchibo, Milo... and let's not forget Tuesday that escaped from his home and we never heard what the outcome was. I so hope he is living in someone's home happy. We are also sad for all re: Kinsey!

May you have a grand day!

It is Tchibo’s 3rd Birthday! OMG where did the time go?! We were re-reading Nathan’s email telling us it was our turn to get a Talemaker pup this morning.

Thank you for such an amazing dog! We thank Tchibo every day. When we are running low on patience with a toddler running around the house Tchibo somehow senses it and magically does something funny to make us laugh. Even though our focus shifted from being always on Tchibo to managing the baby and Tchibo together, I hope he knows it never changed how much we love him.

Thank you everyone at Talemaker for your hard work (videos really demonstrate how much dedication it takes to make perfect puppies). We are off to the park for a family walk!

I hope we will be able to bring Tchibo soon to see his family, play and groom :) however we comb him he looks the best after Darlah’s groom.

Enjoying Life

Just got this from Phillipa with Bailey. I just had to laugh. Tempest and hallie also mud paws all over the kitchen. I love it when dogs are dogs! One has to avoid mud after a rainstorm if you care. I personally laugh about it.

Benji was here having a grand time. I bet he is going to be tired tonight!

Got this from Alene:

Shady and Nora have had enough of self isolation. They drove away, maybe they are coming to visit you!  Have a good long weekend!

Ollie was chasing Roxie all over the place today until we realized she is in heat. She is not being bred. She's a grannie now. When covid is done we will get her spayed.

Here is the gallery.

Tenshi was also here but she is in the gallery. It felt like normal times here.  The dogs miss the visitors.

On a sad note Dolly's daddy is very sick - not with COVID. Our hearts go out to them. You forget all the people who can't be with their loved ones due to covid. We are hopeful he will pull through this. He is genuinely a really nice guy.

Dogs had a blast. I brushed out all the dogs except Truffie who needs a comb out still. It's just before 6pm. Nathan turned the pool heater on to 60f. Not swimming in that but its progress.

Benji fell into the pool today and was a strong and relaxed swimmer. Pool was at 50f. heh

Short Blog

Rusty Getting His Nails Done

Rusty was here visiting and he was enjoying himself. It's good for the soul to have play in your life. It can't be all that covid stuff - I tell you!

I do not have a gallery today. Dennis forgot and well I thought he had. It happens. The dogs do play but rain off and on occured today. Dennis put the plants out and I cringe. We will see how many I lose. He insists they are over freezing so they can deal. Okay - Dennis.

I am looking for old donut beds for the pups that I can buy from you. Ones that your dog no longer or never had interest in. I need some for the puppies. When looking through our beds, I realized we only had a couple and we usually need enough to exchange for the one that goes into the wash. So, if you have one or two, let me know how much you want for it. The pups will appreciate comfort. LOL

Interactions

To wash or not wash - rain is coming.

Back support is here and it is making me able to groom. Hooray.

Here is the gallery.

I have been tracking the weather closely. I need 21c. By the time that comes, it is a week from today. I might be able to take the pups outside then. Now how fun will that be?

the grass is starting to get green. The dogs are enjoying it. Much to do in the garden but this is the time that the dogs can find and see any wildlife. They run. They chase and today they just chased each other for the fun of it.

May Day

Spirit and SkyHere is the gallery. Dogs enjoy this inbetween weather. I want swimming weather. It's like we are in a holding pattern for everything except the pups.

Nathan wanted to try an early shopping experience but never gets there. I have plants waiting to go out. Little by little the dogs are getting washed. When you have pups, you usually scramble to do them before pups come then around 3 weeks scramble to get them done again. But the back is not happy so Nathan did do spirit and finished 1 other. I did a few but shouldn't have until the back brace comes today. This way I can groom - I think. Does Spirit look done? LOL Okay, Nathan did a great job as she looked great till she played. I just love the dogs for it.

Flying Havanese

Tenshi was here and had a great time. She was running and flying. Thank you for the mom's gift. It was deeply appreciated! Happy Mother's Day to you too!!! Such a great girl you have!

Here is the gallery.

This was a no groom Mother's Day for me. Dogs are messy - they may be for a day or 2 as this back - well has to get better and I have grooming tomorrow for boarders.

I changed 2 of the pens and took out the whelping boxes. I am not sure what posessed me but I pulled my back. I have on a rare occassion have had my back hurt me usually from grooming but today I must of turned wrong. So, it is slow motion for me.

Check out the blogs. Lots of changes for Willow and Stormy crew.

Dogs had fun today. Happy Mother's day to all of you that have 2 and 4 leg children!

Snow today... how crazy.

Cold May

Here is the gallery.

It is downright chilly out today. My day has been mighty busy so I am late blogging and short.

I am not sure what everyone is doing on Mother's day but it will certainly be different, I imagine. Our son Jon bought me orchids. He placed it at the door.  No hugs - I get it - no closeness - I get it. Maybe we will order in food for tomorrow to miss the craziness of Mother's Day ordering. We shall see.

What do I yearn for? Sleeping in but not doable as Dennis does night shift. A swim - not warm enough. Plants - well no one lives locally anymore but 2. I think I will take a nap. We shall see. Happy Mother's day Sunday to those that have human kids and dog kids. Good food - laughter - planting if you are Christine or maybe Anne and let's toast to celebrating when this is all over. Good health to all....

The dogs - the pups - they get us by.

Nice Exposure and Gift

Murphy and Jesse's mom Laura brought this for us yesterday. She had it made in England for us. She got life sized wolves for her yard. The pups are removable. You can plant climbers on them to get that garden look or leave it alone. I wonder what a clematis would look like. We have not decided. The dogs spent yesterday barking at it. I have to laugh. Today not so much.

Roxie says - but its now raining. Really - where is summer? Where is the swimming weather?

Dogs react to the rain like we do. Some could care less where others go - really...

We are in the act of putting out plants daily and taking them inside daily. Well, Dennis does this. I find it all too much.

Here is today's gallery.

With weather like this, I can concentrate on pups and dogs.

Warm But Not Hot

The dogs that come are making the most of their time. Heres Parker running his body off.

Here is the gallery.

It tells me they often need more than a walk. They need the dog interaction. Just like we need the human interaction.

Laura dropped off the topiary of a havanese mom and 3 pups to us today. It's HUGE and so magnificent. She said happy mother's day. I wish I had something for her. So nice of her. She has full sized wolves in her backyard from this artist out of the UK.

Both Misty - just over a year and a half and Raven are in heat. We shall see who else comes into heat. This may be the no summer for me summer. LOL

I am so hoping we get good weather so I can swim. I live for the swim.

Other than the trug and fresh veggies and herbs, I think this may be a non gardening year despite that the garden centers and hardware stores will be open starting on Friday.

It's going to start getting exciting with the pups as 1 has their eyes open. Read the blog to see who that puppy belongs to. May the summer begin!

Crazy Fun

Here is the gallery.

Louis and Glory was over and what a blast they had. Zoe and Noah are here and so at home. They are claiming their spots and running with the crew. All is right in the world with the dogs. Glory is not a havanese, in case you noticed.

Murphy departs tomorrow. She just had a bath tonight. It's rather strange not being able to go out to craft shop or learn during covid times with Sherry but good to see her smiling face. Who has time these days anyways. I have yet to really look at the garden. So much to do, so little time.

Dogs are enjoying weather that is not hot but not cold. I should spend at least 10 minutes a day outside for my headspace but haven't been able to.

I was in a really sad mood yesterday and I suppose I am today as well. But the havs always pull you out. They make you laugh. What a gift they are!

Great Loss

With deep sadness, Lynda - loved by havanese Panda and Logan, her husband Gallan, son Jon and daughter Jaclyn passed away today. She was not given enough time. But she is no longer in pain from the evil cancer that descends on too many.

One of the last things she messaged me 2 days ago was can she see videos of the pups. I sent her the link. I tried contacting her after that as I was busy dematting 3 dogs - sigh. She never returned the message - how unlike her. This morning I asked her daughter and she says she is no longer able to communicate as she was heavily medicated to keep her from being in pain. Then I got a call from her son saying she passed away.

It's never easy losing someone you care deeply for. I for one will miss her. Panda and Logan will miss her greatly.

Covid is not easy for the families and friends who can't say goodbye in person. I will miss our dinners where she broke her vegan diet and had a shrimp or two. I will miss laughing, complaining and most everything.

I will be updating the puppy blogs today but not this one. I will play catch up tomorrow. Thanks for understanding.

Visits

Ellie and Tempie was playing up a storm. It was so nice to see her. She played all day and had a spruce up.

Here is the gallery.

Meadow was also here and you can see how she enjoyed herself. She is waiting for a sibling to be from this crew.

It was a very warm day out. Nathan got to sit out. I was too busy with grooming and pups to enjoy. I keep thinking when the pups are 3 weeks old plus.

Dogs loved it ouutside. We still have windows open. Tomorrow cold. How can that be?

Well, tomorrow is busy too. Now to catch up on mail and messages. LOL
