Schnauzer's Are Back

Interesting enough Hallie said wow fun dogs... She reacted differently to Jesse the 1st few minutes. Perhaps Jesse has conditioned her. She certainly loves a dog in class taht is much larger than her.

Here is the gallery.

Dogs had a blast today playing and playing.

I had a lovely dinner tonight with a dear friend. I had 2 keg sized gin and tonics. I may sleep tonight. LOL

Last class with the pups till Family Dog. How did the 4 weeks fly by so fast?

Mandy gets her bath on Saturday and departs Sunday.

Ellie, a Cinnamon pup will be staying over Saturday night so she gets to see Mandy before she departs.

Pingo is here and is playing his head off. Boy will he be tired when he goes home.

Meadow is playing with the big dogs, the pups - no issue. What fun!

Till tomorrow!

Before and After Grooming

This is Jeannie before grooming. It rather suits her.

Play starts here at 7amish after they go out first thing in the morning and ends about 950pm. But they do take naps. We have open crates everywhere if they want to sleep in a hideaway or the couches, chairs, beds etc They do need naps daily - even the adults. They play so hard that they need down time to regroup and play again. But do they all sleep at once? No! Only the ones that decide to go with Nathan to take a nap. they have a solid couple of hours, if you can believe.

Here is the gallery.

As it is still mucky, I was grooming all day. I just finished and we are about to get dinner ready.

Nathan is better - meds side effects. Not coronavirus. LOL We wash our hands so much.

Off to have dinner at the Keg tomorrow night with a dear friend.

Dennis had the crew running like crazy dawgs into this room or that and they were running after him. I want his energy! Don't we all?

Mighty Wet

This is what it looks like in our backyard. It is a mix of ice, slush and some patches of snow. It's very wet out there. I went out many times today and I have waterproof shoes and well I ended up stepping too deep and it seeped in my shoes and soaked my feet. I have to do this to get what the dogs must feel like - don't you know? LOL

Here is today's gallery.

Here are 2 brothers. The black and white, Benny just departed. Murphy who lives with Jesse is the other brother. Kat is the 3rd brother. It was nice to have them together.

Nathan is sick. It's supposed to be Dennis day off so I have to make this blog short. Sorry about that. I have to relieve Dennis.

Rain Really?

I feel like it is a cold spring with all this rain and muck. The dogs are going out but they are sick of the grooming, combouts and cleaning. Shlomo is at the point with Raven that they would rather go into a crate and pretend they are not here when it comes time to go outside. It is simply too cold and wet for them to truly enjoy. So snow or melt and have clear skies. I don't care but the dogs can't run on ice and through a ton of water so inside we run and play as they must have their exercise. I believe they need it so they sleep and enjoy.

Here is the gallery.

Early in the morning we had no rain and they went awww just like we did. then teh rain came and came and came and the ice is still there.

Oh well - tomorrow is a new day.

Less than a week and Mandy departs. We will miss her but they are going to love her. She's a wonderful dog.

Too Bloody Rainy

Dallas says it is too rainy out there and everyone agrees that no one wants to wade in ankle deep water. So we jump up and down for dinner and really we do especially for veal. We play inside games. We have tv time and we do runs up and down the hallways to expel energy. It's a good life even in lousy weather.

Here is a small gallery.

Here at Talemaker we wish everyone who celebrates Gong hei fat choy or Gong xi fa cai great happiness and prosperity!

Happy 1st Birthday

Happy Birthday to Handsome Pablo!  He is busy celebrating his 1st birthday today! Party time!

We cannot believe how time flies! Tanner is one year old today. To celebrate we had a little doggie cake and sang a song. Here are a couple pics. They're not great; maybe it's time for a new camera?

Here is the gallery link for the dogs that are here. Huge happy birthday to Pablo, Tanner, Kora and Poppy!

Fun Play and Love

We always manage to have grand fun - well the dogs do and we do cause they do!

Here is the gallery.

Cinnamon and her pups are reconnecting. She was not up to being mom for quite a bit of time so she is playing catch-up. It is nice. She's now off her puffers and only on her antibiotics. She is totally back to being her.

We were in class tonight. Tempest is like a butterfly. She gets so distracted. I have to laugh at her. Next week the last class. We missed seeing Zach. Hope to see him in the last class. It's a fun class only.

Keeping the Snow Clean

We try our hardest to shovel any output out each time we are out but if you see something in a photo, we are only human.

Here is the gallery.

Dogs are really meshed together. They are having fun and enjoying each day. I sat in the kitchen with some while Nathan napped and they all were napping. They play, they rest, they play, they go outside.

Today they each had a greenie and some were jumping up and down like maniacs saying don't forget me. It is joyful to watch so much enthusiasm.

Big Dog Socialization

Jesse and Murphy are here for the next couple of months while Mom goes and helps in Australia. Above is a photo Nathan took of Jesse and Tchibo. They had their moments today.

Here is the gallery.

Hallie screamed when she saw Jesse. One would have thought he stepped on her but it was fear. What the hey is that in my house? All the first timers and visitors go through this. They handle it in a variety of ways but it is a good experience. Okay, not everyone. Coco the Maltese was here today and went okay - a new playmate. But by the time Jesse's mom had departed, Hallie was play bowing and jumping all over him. This is big dog socialization and it is a great experience for your dog.

Hallie and the Maltese CocoWe are still working on the family room. The tv room now has our two end tables that are crates with doors open and beds on top of them. As we move furniture around after xpens are down, we either move it back or use it elsewhere.

Dogs are not reacting as I guess its a new adventure each day and new things to climb on. They seem to be used to this and enjoying the changes as most are for them. We have a real dog house. LOL

Changes

Every night - many times a night different dogs find their way to Nathan to watch tv. When I get in there, he tells me I take his favourite away. Who knew they are all his faves including the visitors. I can't win. LOL

Here is the gallery.

The pups slept in our bed. Nathan kept wooing them over to him. It didn't take much for him to accomplish this.

The xpen in the familyroom is now gone. Each time we do this, we rearrange the room and it is much work. then an xpen or 2 comes back in and it gets disassembled again. LOL We are doing this all tonight. usually at 12 weeks old we are doing this but we had pups vacationing etc Pups are quite happy being with the adults now and going to bed. They even took their nap with Nathan and Cinnamon and Leti ran to go as well. Murphy shot out of her crate to say...hey me!

Dogs were lifting their paws quite a bit. It is cold. But when it is this cold we do short play sessions and watch for the lifting paws. That is a signal you must come in.

We finally got all the clothes, blankets etc done after the dryer repair. It is funny how far the pile piled up. I finnally finished an hour ago.

Dennis also cleaned out the xpen upstairs. He sterilizes it all the time but takes the steamer out and does the walls and flooring and cleans everything. He celebrates no more xpen cleanups nightly and each morning. Till the next time... It's a nice break for him but now he is moving a tv in this familyroom and well keeping busy. Tomorrow is his day off. He deserves it!

Dogs had a hunt the treat session today. It was a riot!

After the Storm

This is after the storm. Check out the gallery.

We had visitors today to see the pups and adults. We actually had 2 sets of visitors at different times but only took photos of the 1st visitors as you will see in the gallery.

Cinnamon is no longer coughing or sounding congested. She is not as playful as she usually is but is still in recovery. She is back to doing motherly things like cleaning the pups etc. Still taking meds for 10 more days. She is back to giving me kisses and rolling on her back to get a belly rub. She also is bringing toys to me. She is a HUGE toy player.

It is now cold enough that we are no longer getting snowballs on the dogs. Hooray! Dennis is out shoveling in the back as we had snow fall off the gazebos and create mounds of snow - 1 right at the back door.

Dogs are loving this cool but biggest snowstorm? Didn't happen here  - the huge storm but we got enough that the dogs had a blast and that is what it is about.

We hope all of you fared the storms well. After feeding the dogs, I am crawling on to the couch and the dogs are invited to create a blanket. What a wonderful feeling that is! Every now and then though the legs go numb. LOL

Let it Snow

Grabbed by the tail fun.

The snow came and is still coming down. The dogs just LOVE, LOVE LOVE it as you will see in the gallery.

Brewer was running his body off. Murphy was playing with the pups.

Everyone and I mean everyone was enjoying this white stuff. I am hoping it does not change to rain - please no.

The pups are growing up. You would swear they are adults in the way they maneuver.

Cold Brrrr

It is mighty cold. Supposedly we are getting wind and 6 inches of snow. The dogs will love it and so will I if it stays cold. When it is cold it is powder snow.

Here is the gallery.

Dolly and Trouble are here. It's been awhile so it was hugely welcomed. Dolly's mom gave us a gift. Thank you immensely! The fit in immediately!

No one wants to stay outdoors. It's too cold. You should see the pups running like banshees now. They have truly become amazing on their feet. They run. They play. They love training as it means treats.

Everyone is enjoying each other. It is rather nice!!

Just Combed

This is Stone and as soon as you comb him out he begins to play with all. He ends up looking like this. It's what I love about him. His spirit is grand!

Here is the gallery.

Dogs have been having a great time. We went to class tonight.

Dolly and Trouble arrive tomorrow. It's Dennis day off.

I have a working dryer without charge. Two of the wheels (didn't know the dryers have wheels inside) were broken. What did they replace last service call? All the wheels. I am so glad that we get a repair early, I may add as they were making us wait till Saturday and no charge. Wow...

Now we play catchup.

TV Time

Tenshi's fave spot during tv time is Nathan's neck pillow. Nathan was watching his Chinese soap opera - well it has kungfu in it but I think its really a soap opera. LOL

Here is the gallery.

Marlie goes home tomorrow. We have class but our dryer people said 4-6. Someone has to be here, I suppose and of course Marlie will be picked up. He's getting a bath tomorrow. We are going to miss him but his humans are goingb to be so happy to see him. I can't blame them. LOL

Nathan did a training session - 1st time for her and well she is a star. Check it out here.

Chester and Thunder arrived.

Our clothes dryer is broken again. Cinnamon is better but still will be on meds for at least 12 more days.

Dogs have been playing nonstop today. We actually got a photo of Misty with her hair still intact - miracle.

Change is a Coming

Cinnamon was seen sitting outside and enjoying life. A change is a coming. Still 12 more days of puffers, 10 more days of antibiotics and 4 more days of prednisone with the idea that may be adjusted if this plan doesn't work.

Here is today's gallery.

Coco, Leti's chocolate is here playing for the day. She is having a blast. Leti is thoroughly delighted. Tempest jumped over Roxie while she was eating all to head out the door. I have placed up two videos of Nathan training Tempest and Halle. You can see them here. While Tempest was training the dogs kept barking to train too and get treats. LOL Sorry about that.

No grooming today for me. Nathan brushed Murphy. He will do Coco and I will play catch-up tomorrow.

Last night I had a freak accident. I had my handheld vacuum and I was bent over vacumming up hair after grooming. My hair got caught in the vacuum, wrapped around the motor and the only way I could get it out was to cut my hair. Today I have tenderness and a huge egg on my scalp. Now my vacuum doesn't work. I am not happy. I have contacted the company. Thry said it never happened before.

The year 2020 is steaming right through in a stampeding fashion. LOL

Cinnamon is getting better. Shout out to Russell and Anne who are sick with the flu. We hope you heal quickly.

Susan and Molly came to visit the other day and brought beautiful tulips and a poem book that will make you laugh. Thank you. I need laughs. We all do.

Cold Day and Issues

Sunday's blog seems to have disappeared and I haven't a clue what I said. I put in a ticket to see if they can recover but know I really did one. They are working on it. LOL Maybe what I said wasn't important. Someone trying to tell me something?

Here is today's gallery.

It's a cold day.

We had Charlie and Dallas visit us for grooming and play. I also had a few others and got Ella done who already looks like a mess. I am playing catch-up with my own now that Cinnamon intense focus has passed.

Henley has arrived and immediately started playing her heart out. Everytime I think of her name I think of Don Henley.

Nathan had his usual nap. We are making the transition to reverse osmosis. It was installed days ago but you have to flush out the system a few times before usage. Not any different than distilled. It is cheaper than the bottle water we have been investing in with us and the dogs. But the cooler gave us cold water. If I can find glass bottles that someone will let us buy (Cedar Springs sells them only to customers) I would fill that and use our cooler. We are now using containers in the fridge. The cost of dog dishes alone is a hefty cost as we place out 10 dishes a day and change them out twice more a day. Yes, we are a bit nuts in making sure they have clean, cold water all day. We even have cooling bowls.

Looking forward to saving money.

Henley and Parker love the wee pups. The pups have perfected their skills so well that they can keep up with some of the older dogs. It is amazing. Mia thinks the little ones are gremlins descending on her. When you get older, you sometimes feel that way.

Look Who Came to Visit

Ellie was here for a bath, comb out and trim pads, nails and to make her hair round around her feet which she was great for. What a doll. Marlie was out of his mind happy to see her. Well, they all were but it was how he was like when he got here.

Here is the gallery.

The weather is wet, mucky and well time consuming. It has not been fun but teh dogs thought it was. They mostly played inside but they did get outdoor time. Sonny - I am told a golen but looks liek a lab to me was here and had a blast. I had to leep drying her off as she kept wanting to go out and get wet and that means we get wet too as we go out with them. LOL

Cinnamon had a setback today. But she seems better at the moment. Life is a rollercoaster. I want off the ride.

I groomed for the day and every one I groomed except Ellie decided the weather is too bad so they are coming tomorrow. LOL

I kept my pjs on all day that don't look like pjs. It is one of those days.

I am hoping tomorrow is a good day. Sherry and I are going out on Tuesday so I can get a mind break. It is my day off from grooming and Monday is extra busy. She says where do you want to go? I have yet to figure it out. LOL I think I need dogs and sleep!

Hope the rest of you are surviving the awful weather. Now to keep the groomed dogs looking like they had a bath!

More Tests: She is NOT Contagious

Accuplex 4
Heartworm (Antigen) NEGATIVE

Accuplex 4Heartworm (Antigen) NEGATIVE

Borrelia burgdorferi
NEGATIVE
Exposure and Vaccine

Ehrlichia canis NEGATIVE

Anaplasma phagocytophilum NEGATIVE

We are now doing a fecal. Last night she spit up and spit up phlegm all over my bed. It is the first time she is able to get some phlegm up. The Choledyl had kept it in the lungs vs working like an expectorant. She had her best sleep since this happened. So much so that I kept checking on her to see if she was breathing. Crazy where the mind goes.

Nava departed today and it is the 1st time Cinnamon was wanting to play with the pups. But in the videos with Nava, you will hear her coughing and coughing. Believe me, this is a better cough and she can breathe without trying to catch her breath. Plus her desire to be with the pups engaged is a positive. She is such a great mom.

Two vets are not better than one. They each have their own bills and ideas. After a hunt to see if Cinnamon had heartworms and whatever, our local vet says I guess we are on the right track. She has pnuemonia. I am awaiting my usual vet's advice.

I am NOT doing well. Too much - indeed on overload but I will relax when she is well. The rest, I just have to get my own coping skills. LOL

Dogs are doing well. No matter what goes down, we always make sure they have the time of their life. Their happiness is mine - even the dog who peed on the dog bed. Well, that didn't make me happy but I laugh now that the bed is cleaned etc

Winston has departed and is heading to his new home. His humans moved so he stayed here while they dealt with boxes and downsizing and all that fun.

Harlow - still seeing if she goes tonight. Rocco departs tomorrow.

Bad weather is coming, they say. We shall see. A gallery added later...

Five Pups in House Plus Olders

Here is the gallery.

Marlie arrived last night, Coco arrived for a play day today. The moms were excited and they were excited to be here.

Vet came and did a checkup and their next vaccination. Coco had hers yesterday.

The adults really like the puppies and so do the older pups. It's an outstanding bunch. Parker came in and went oh pups fun. Every single dog thought they were delightful and oh my the rolling around that Tempie and Coco did was priceless.

Crosby had a bath and I have to comb him out again as he is playing up a storm. Just another fun day here!
